The East Knox Bulldogs delivered a commanding performance, cruising to a 60–28 road win over the Elgin Comets in a boys varsity basketball non-conference matchup. The Bulldogs limited Elgin’s offensive, holding the Comets to 28 points and pulling away for a lopsided win.
The matchup occurred on January 31 at Elgin High School.
According to reports, East Knox controlled the game from the start, fueled by 43% shooting from the field and an 83% mark at the line. Their perimeter game kept Elgin off balance as they hit key threes and moved the ball well enough to create clean looks throughout the night. The Bulldogs also capitalized on Elgin’s turnovers, turning several of their 11 steals into easy transition points.
On the defensive end, East Knox dictated the pace with constant pressure that limited Elgin’s ability to get comfortable. They owned the glass with a 28–21 rebounding edge, cutting off extra opportunities and keeping Elgin from building any momentum. That combination of defensive activity and control of possessions allowed East Knox to stay firmly in command from start to finish.
Looking ahead, East Knox will host Danville in a conference matchup on February 6. In their previous encounter, East Knox was defeated by Danville with a score of 63–41 during a home conference game on January 9.
